American Legion Family Day with Detroit Tigers
Time is running out to get your tickets for American Legion Family Day with the Detroit Tigers!  Wednesday, May 4.  Tigers vs. Pirates.  1:10 pm.  We have about 60 people coming from all over the state!  https://fevo.me/39lVyJf

Monday - Honor Guard at Great Lakes National Cemetery; cornhole with dinner $5 (or just dinner by Geneva)
Tuesday - Bingo in Chapman Hall; More good eats from the Auxiliary available for purchase, and you don't have to play bingo!
Wednesday - Inaugural American Legion Family Day with Detroit Tigers
Thursday - Cinco de Mayo potluck starting about 5:30.  Trivia games, 7-9 pm
Friday - LIVE BAND - THE WAGON WHEEL - featuring Ralph Smith Sr!  Music in their DNA! (Chapman Hall Friday's in May)
Saturday - Beach clean up for boat slip lessees, 9-1; Karaoke with our fave DJ UGH! 
May 8 - Club closed for Mother's Day

May 30 - Memorial Day ceremony/lunch, bring a dish, Pavilion. 2 pm
June 3 - Classic Car & Bike Night begins at Pavilion.  Woohoo!

SPECIAL THANKS
Special Thanks for the enduring efforts of our Auxiliary volunteers as they arrange all kinds of activities to support our post and our community!  They run food concessions on Tuesdays, organize and make all the children's events fun and memorable, and last week they put on the comedy show "Drag Queen Bingo" - a HUGE success.  (Another scheduled July 9!)  
 
BURN PITS & VET BENEFITS
On April 26, the VA announced the addition of nine rare respiratory cancers to the list of presumed service-connected disabilities due to exposure to fine particulate matter for Veterans who served any amount of time in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Syria or Uzbekistan during the Persian Gulf War, from September 19, 2001, to the present, or The Southwest Asia theater of operations from August 2, 1990, to the present.Veterans and survivors who had claims previously denied for any of the below respiratory cancers are encouraged to file a supplemental claim for benefits;
  1. Squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx;
  2. Squamous cell carcinoma of the trachea;
  3. Adenocarcinoma of the trachea;
  4. Salivary gland-type tumors of the trachea;
  5. Adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung;
  6. Large cell carcinoma of the lung;
  7. Salivary gland-type tumors of the lung;
  8. Sarcomatoid carcinoma of the lung and;
  9. Typical and atypical carcinoid of the lung.
 
Firearms are not allowed inside the club unless you are a law enforcement officer on duty.  Firearms must be secured inside your vehicle while on the property.  This means your vehicle must be locked.  Also remember that recreational marijuana is allowed in your home, not on post property.
