ADOPT A PLATOON!
For several years, Chief Pontiac served the active military deployed
troops by sending packages of food, clothing, personal hygiene and
assorted items. Through ADOPT A PLATOON, the Post would be assigned a
troop and we sent packages out monthly through their deployment.
Through our membership and community participation we supplied nearly
300 packages to 17 military units!!
The program has changed for several reasons (protecting the privacy of troop and soldier information, inappropriate shipments/letters/pictures, commitments to support the platoons not being honored, etc). Individuals and groups are no longer provided with troop information for direct shipping - however - ADOPT A PLATOON accepts donations and sends out packages
